A MESSAGE FROM JENNIFER FOWEE,
DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR COVINGTON SCHOOLS
As Covington Independent Public Schools prepares to return to in-person instruction on Monday, February, 22, we kindly ask that all staff, students, families, and community members continue to follow the best health practices as recommended by the Northern Kentucky Health Department.
These health practices include:
-Do not leave your home if you are sick, have been exposed to COVID, have tested positive for COVID, or are awaiting a COVID test result.
-Wear a cloth face-covering any time you leave your home, and any time you are with someone who does not live in your home.
-Maintain six feet of distance from others during all interactions.
-Frequently wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
-Use hand sanitizer when you don't have access to soap and water. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes.
-Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue, and discard the tissue immediately.
-Avoid large gatherings and crowded places.
-Regularly disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
-Get vaccinated, when you are able to do so per the health department's distribution schedule.
-If you are sick, have been exposed to COVID, have tested positive for COVID, or are awaiting a COVID test result, please contact your school nurse. Please remember that it is mandatory in the state of Kentucky to report your positive COVID test to your school within 24 hours.
Our Health Services team is here to help you navigate this pandemic. We will provide you with clear guidance on your next steps to being able to return to work or school safely. It will take every one of us doing our part to keep our schools and community safe and healthy. We are all in this together!
