John G. Carlisle, Holmes Middle winners of "High Attendance Day"

High Attendance Day

Congratulations to all students who made “High Attendance Day” one to remember.  Covington schools celebrated yesterday with pajama and popcorn parties. The overall attendance rate for the district was 96.52 percent. Great job everyone.  John G. Carlisle Elementary School had the highest rate of attendance yesterday with a rate of 98.14 percent. At the secondary level, the school with the highest attendance rate was Holmes Middle School, with a rate of 97.93 percent. Students in attendance at the winning schools will be entered into a drawing for a Chromebook on Monday, September 24.

While the state every year designates a high attendance day, we know that attendance is importance every day. We most certainly thank and applaud our parents for making sure their children are in school, on time and ready to learn, every day.
