What a great week we had in third grade! Students have been working cooperatively in the classroom, during morning meetings, at recess and working towards earning house points (ask them what house they’re in and how they earn points)!
What's happening in the third grade classrooms:
In writing, students have been working on 6+1 traits. They have been learning how to strengthen their sentences using detail and descriptive words.
In math, students have been working on multiplication using strategies such as skip counting and the distributive property. We have also been working on memorizing facts.
In ELA, we are identifying details to determine the theme of a story. We read a play called "The ants and the grasshoppers" and the students read the parts of the fictional characters.
In science, Students are actively observing patterns of motion in the classroom and at the playground!
