Covington Independent Public Schools has opened its District Enrollment Center so that parents/guardians can register all their children at the same time and place.
The enrollment center also provides one-stop service to families seeking resources and information for students in kindergarten through 12th grades.
“With the needs of families in mind, our primary goal of the District Enrollment Center is to provide a more efficient enrollment process,’’ said Superintendent Alvin Garrison.
“It is our intent to make the transition to new schools and to access district resources as easy as possible. Our goal is to offer exceptional service to families in Covington Independent Public Schools.”
All parents/guardians must use the center to enroll new students to the district or students who are transferring within Covington schools.
Individual schools will no longer enroll students.
The enrollment center will also be the contact for changes of address, phone number or emergency contacts.
Long-time employees, Dawn Vancini and Becky Koch who were previously in charge of attendance and enrollment at Holmes Middle School, staff the center. Interpreters include Christian Reyes and Orihet Huffman.
The center is located at 212 Levassor Place, near Holmes High School.
The center, which opened this summer, shares space with the Adult High School.
“It’s been fantastic. Parents love it,” said Vancini. “The enrollment center allows parents to register their children in one centralized location. It is awesome.”
The center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; and Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, please call the center at 859 292-5864 Ext 1.
