Late this weekend, Holmes High School received notification that an individual in the school recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Out of an abundance of caution and because of the timing, we are asking that all Holmes High School students and staff work remotely on Monday to allow health officials time to conduct our contact tracing protocol and for our custodial staff to properly disinfect.
The health, safety, and well-being of our school community remain our top priority. Be assured that we will follow all protocols and if necessary, we will contact staff and families whose children may have had close contact with the individual who tested positive.
The person who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not return to the building until their quarantine has ended. In-person classes will resume on Tuesday.
Due to federal privacy laws, we cannot disclose the name of the person who tested positive.
We will follow up with another communication via email, one call, Facebook, and website by the end of the workday Monday. Please make sure that the school office has your correct contact information.
We are sorry for the late notice, but with COVID-19, we are learning that some situations are not predictable. We surely thank you for understanding. If you should have questions, please call 859-655-9545 ext. 16209.
