New Band Director at Holmes High School

Holmes Band Director

Conrad Krieger’s love of music started when he learned to play classical guitar at the age of 10. He moved on to playing the trombone in the band at Cincinnati Christian Schools. In college, he was a student band director for two basketball seasons at Northern Kentucky University. He also was a member of the Jazz Band and the Wind Ensemble.

Today, Kreiger is the new band director for Holmes High School.

"What I love the most about band is the community it builds, the character it teaches, and the love it shares,” Krieger said.

“Music is collective. It is about sharing your heart and communicating with others. Music is character building.”

Krieger said he decided to come to Holmes because of the school’s rich tradition and the pride alumni have in the band program.

Students are ready to get started.

“I believe that I can motivate and lead the students in creating a program that they can once again take pride in,’’ he said.

Krieger also worked with the William Henry Harrison High School Marching Band in Ohio.

He is excited about meeting Holmes band student at band camp which started this week from 8 a.m. – noon and continues the weeks of July 29 and August 5 from 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Students interested in attending the camp may go to the band room on the Holmes campus or contact Krieger at Conrad.krieger@covington.kyschools.us.
